This new feature, which takes us back to Facebook's early days, completely changes the social media platform. Here's how to make it active.

Facebook encourages you to get back in touch with your pals. Recently, the social media platform Meta introduced a new tab that does away with the algorithm. Indeed, Facebook has given up some of its algorithmic features in favor of allowing you to see content from people you know. Of course, the entire social network is not affected by this. A new tab on Facebook has been added specifically for your friends' content.

An announcement about this new tab was made on Meta's official blog. In order to help users recall how the social network looked in its early days, the company is treating this new tab as an experience. The foundation of social media sites like Facebook and Instagram has been destroyed by algorithms. Let us examine the functionality of this new Facebook tab.

Now, posts from your Facebook friends will have their own area. The new tab's sole purpose is to let you view content from your Facebook friends; the social network no longer requires you to browse posts from content creators or suggested items.

This tab will incorporate all of your uploaded text, images, and videos. To create an experience reminiscent of the early days of the social network, this section is made to only show content from Facebook friends.

There will not be any integrations or recommendations outside of your Facebook friend list; all of this content will be shared by friends. Even more intriguing is the fact that you can pin this new tab to your Facebook profile, making it your main presence and allowing you to always see what your friends have posted.

You simply need to make the following changes for this tab to show up in the bottom bar of the Facebook app menu:

- Open the Facebook app.

- Press and hold any icon in the bottom bar.

- Select "Customize Tab Bar."

- Look for the "Friends" option.

- Install the "Friends" bar

These steps will help you access the new tab for your friends' content. This move by the social network seems strange, although we have to see how it will impact users' use of Facebook.

- All steps are explained in detail in the Meta blog.
