Many of us had our doubts when Samsung said it would apply the most recent Android security patch to its flagship smartphones, both high-end and entry-level. However, the South Korean behemoth is actually delivering. The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, the company's first low-cost phone with six years of updates, is now receiving the March Android update, which was previously only available for its 2021 flagships, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
According to specialized media such as SamMobile, Samsung has begun to release the March 2025 Android update for the international version of the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, which has firmware version A165FXXS2AYB2 and model number SM-A165F.
This indicates that the March 2025 security patch is included in the new software update that is being installed on the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G phones. In addition to fixing a few general bugs in the One UI, this most recent security patch fixes almost six dozen privacy and security issues and enhances the stability and performance of this low-cost phone.
