Google caught everyone off guard by giving away Gemini 2.5 Pro for free. The most potent artificial intelligence yet can be activated in this way
Unexpectedly, Google's newest AI model, the Gemini 2.5 Pro, which was unveiled a few days ago, is now accessible to all users.
Only Gemini Advanced and Google One AI Premium subscribers in the US could access Gemini 2.5 Pro a few days ago, but a few hours ago, all users with free accounts, apparently worldwide, could access it.
You can select the model from the top left of Gemini, where you can choose this version, which is "ideal for very complex tasks." Of course, it's limited to only five interactions, so you won't get much use out of it, but fortunately, it resets over time.
The Gemini 2.5 Pro is advertised as Google's smartest AI model, featuring reasoning capabilities and supporting various functions such as apps, extensions, file uploading, and canvas.
To enjoy it, just go to the official Gemini website, although this new model is currently not available for iOS and Android apps.
According to LMArena's rankings, the Gemini 2.5 Pro demo currently tops the rankings, especially in math and science tests.
It is unclear whether the stable version of Gemini 2.5 Pro will continue to be available to all users and free accounts with the release of the stable version or whether only the beta version will be available, as is currently the case.
