You are forced to utilize Apple's artificial intelligence. It uses 7 GB of space, so here's how to turn it off.
iOS 18.3.2 and iPadOS 18.3.2 for iPhone and iPad devices were released by Apple today. A major security update included in this release fixes a common flaw that was initially fixed in iOS and iPadOS 17.2. For all Apple fans attempting to avoid Apple's artificial intelligence, it also means yet another headache.
On compatible iPhones and iPads, the new software can now be downloaded via OTA as normal by going to Settings, choosing the Software Update option, and then going to the General section.
Apple's iOS release notes state that significant security and bug fixes are included in the iOS 18.3.2 update.
However, the vulnerability mentioned above might make it possible for malicious web content to get past the Web Content Sandbox. It is strongly advised to install the update as soon as possible because, according to Apple, this vulnerability was used in a highly sophisticated attack against specific individuals.
Even if you have already deactivated Apple Intelligence, you will notice that it will be activated again after installing the latest update. Every time an Apple update is released, this is the default behavior: Whether you want it to or not, Apple Intelligence reverts to its default state when you install an update. However, you will need to manually disable it after every update, so it makes no difference if you choose not to use it.
This is because a splash screen promoting Apple Intelligence will appear after you install a new version of iOS, and your only choice will be "Continue." It reactivates and returns to your iPhone's default settings when you tap it. You must take the actions listed below if you wish to temporarily disable it:
Select Settings.
Turn the switch on after selecting Siri & Apple Intelligence.
If you do not want to use the AI suite on your iPhone, you will need to repeat these steps when your phone updates again soon. Keep in mind that turning it off will recover up to 7GB of storage space used for local AI models.
