The Huawei Pura X foldable phone, which has an odd design, is released by Huawei. These are all of its features and costs.

The Huawei Mate XT, the company's first dual-folding phone, shocked us when it was released in September 2024. Despite being expected from Huawei, which is constantly at the forefront of innovation, it was a total surprise.

The Chinese company, however, apparently was not happy with this gadget and made the decision to proceed. The Huawei Pura X, a foldable phone in the shape of a book, is its latest release. We believe it is a brilliant phone that you should learn more about, even though it might be the most bizarre smartphone you have ever seen.

Standing out from the crowd is something Huawei loves, and sometimes that only requires making one small change. The new foldable phone from the Chinese manufacturer has an internal display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, so this time it is the display.

On the market, this shape is extremely uncommon. First, instead of the traditional elongated form factor, it provides more screen space, making it resemble a small tablet. Secondly, the device is still small enough to fit in a pocket when folded, roughly the size of a man's wallet.

The phone has two displays: an external 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 980 x 980 pixels (1:1) and an internal 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 2120 x 1320 pixels. Both screens are OLED, have a maximum brightness of 2500 nits, and support LTPO2 technology for a variable refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz. This indicates that the displays are good.

Other than that, the Huawei Pura X has excellent looks thanks to its gorgeous vegan leather back and chrome bezels. Not to be overlooked is the camera module, whose design perfectly balances the phone's enormous external display. It is IPX8 water resistant, by the way.

This phone is unique not only because of its design but also because of its cameras. Huawei is well-known for its incredible cameras, which have won the DxOMark photography award several times.

It was not any different with the Huawei Pura X phone, which boasts excellent cameras and the following specs:

The 50MP primary camera has an f/1.6 aperture, a RYYB sensor, OIS, and PDAF.

- 8MP telephoto lens featuring a 3.5x optical zoom, PDAF, OIS, and an f/2.4 aperture.

A 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera featuring autofocus, a RYYB sensor, macro capability, and an f/2.2 aperture.

Spectral mapping of scenes is aided by a 1.5 MP infrared.

How about the processor and other components? We would not be shocked if this phone is powered by the Kirin 9010 or 9020, but Huawei has not disclosed the exact processor type. We are only aware of the RAM size, which is 12 or 16 GB, and the storage capacity, which is between 256 GB and 1 TB.

The phone features high-fidelity stereo speakers as well as a 4,720mAh battery with 66W fast charging and 40W wireless charging. Power performance is excellent for a clamshell smartphone, and it's significantly better than the Galaxy Z Flip 6, thanks to the additional screen width.

Of course, the Huawei Pura X will come with HarmonyOS 5.0, not Android, as you should already know about Huawei's partnership with Google.

At the moment, the company has no plans to market it outside China, but if it reaches global markets, we'll let you know. Its base price is 7,499 yuan, or about €950 at the exchange rate, for the 12GB or 256GB version.
