Google is releasing the newest Gemini 2.0 models and Deep Research for iOS and Android for free.

Google is releasing the newest Gemini models, such as 2.0 Flash Thinking (experimental), to the web, Android, and iOS apps in large quantities after the announcement on Thursday.

As usual, Google releases new models to gemini.google.com first, followed a few days later by the mobile apps. We are seeing much greater availability across a number of Gemini accounts as of Saturday afternoon.

Flash Thinking (experimental) 2.0 is available to all Gemini (free) users. The business began using lowercase "experimental" and putting it in parenthesis with this round of models. As a result, it is now 2.0 Pro (experimental), and Google has not revealed any additional changes to the premium model. The new Flash Thinking offers "better efficiency and speed" in comparison to the earlier version, which was released in early February.

With Google combining and eliminating the distinct "with apps" model from last month, it enables you to access Gemini Apps like @Gmail, @YouTube, etc.  Everyone can now upload files, and Advanced subscribers receive a context window with 1 million tokens.

In the meantime, all Gemini accounts have access to Deep Research. Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking (experimental) powers it, but Google no longer makes clear which model is being used. On the web, you can either keep using the model picker or click the new "Deep Research" button in the prompt bar. Compared to Advanced customers, free users have fewer research options.

Last but not least, Google revealed a new experimental personalization model that is open for testing by all users. All users are welcome to test this experimental personalization model.be examined to determine whether your previous search history can "improve the answer." For brainstorming and tailored suggestions, this is helpful. Some examples of prompts are:

  • Where should I spend my summer vacation?
  • I need ideas for content for my YouTube channel, which I want to launch.
  • What new skills would you advise me to acquire for a job or hobby?

YouTube and Photos are being promoted as additional tools that Google will use in the future. In order to create a personal AI assistant "that does not just answer general questions, but understands you," Google is working on this project.

In this regard, saved data is currently being widely distributed, and more than 45 languages will soon be able to access the sophisticated feature that allows Gemini to remember and consult previous conversations when responding to prompts.

The most recent 2.0 models that users can access through the Gemini app are as follows:

  • 2.0 Flash: With additional features for daily tasks
  • 2.0 Experimental Flash Thinking: Makes use of sophisticated reasoning
  • Deep Research: Obtain comprehensive research summaries
  • Customization (test): Assistance according to your search history
  • 2.0 Pro (experimental): Ideal for challenging assignments
