Google Chrome introduces a new AI-powered security feature, and because of its significance, Google encourages everyone to activate it.

Cyber threats are becoming more frequent and sophisticated in today's world. Google has created a new feature for its Chrome browser that attempts to increase user protection against potential attacks in recognition of the growing importance of web browsing security. But there are drawbacks to this cutting-edge tool, especially in terms of privacy.

With almost 80% of the market, Google Chrome is the most popular browser in the world. Recently, it introduced a new feature called Advanced Protection. This security system uses artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen defenses against online threats. Although it is already available, each user must activate it themselves.

In an effort to improve user security against malicious websites, risky downloads, and dubious extensions, Google started testing this feature late last year. Advanced Protection analyzes possible threats we may face while using the internet in real time using artificial intelligence algorithms.

How to turn on advanced security

Since it is not enabled by default, you will need to follow the steps listed below to enable it on your device. Navigate to the "Privacy & Security" section in Chrome Settings. The "Advanced Protection" option can be found in the "Security" section of this tab, or you can go straight to chrome://settings/security and enable it.

Google has made a lot of effort to highlight the advantages of this feature, saying it can make regular browsing safer. However, the browser must transmit data to Google servers in order for AI to identify threats, which may cause some people who value online privacy to become concerned. The benefit is that each user has the last say over whether or not to activate it.
