When users' computers first boot up, an odd and enigmatic program appears. You must remove it now

As everyone knows, Windows 10 is a complicated operating system that has many bugs and glitches. One of the most perplexing is an oddly named application that shows up when Windows boots up with no explanation of where it came from.

This program should be eliminated from Windows 10 startup since it uses a lot of memory space and is ultimately useless.

If it stays there, it not only takes up RAM but also slows down your computer's startup. It's not very annoying, but it's resource-intensive and not very useful, so we'll show you how to disable it.

- What is the Program app in Windows 10 and how do I remove it?

Initially, the program application only appears at startup in Windows 10 and not Windows 11. But it was placed by the system, so it is not unlikely that we will see it one day in Windows 11.

It's confusing because all the apps that appear in the startup menu when you boot Windows 10 are displayed with the name of the company that created them, so you know where they came from. But this one has nothing and even its icon is white. There's no clue as to its origin.

You can see that in this screenshot I took myself on one of the computers I still have running Windows 10 on:

As you can see, it's the only app that doesn't put anything in the advertiser column.

According to Microsoft customer support, this question has been asked of them over 1,200 times, so this is a fairly common issue.

What we have here is the remnants of the driver installation, which is "stuck" in the Start menu. It is likely that the system put it in boot mode while installing the driver, so that it is installed at the beginning of everything, and some mistake caused you to forget to remove it.

To make sure you have this application, open Task Manager using the search bar and click on the Startup tab or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc. There you will see all the applications and drivers that were placed in memory when you started your computer.

If this program is present, simply right-click on its name and select Disable. The program will be disabled and even if it appears in the list, it will not start at startup.

In theory, Windows 10 should remove it automatically in a future update. Another option is to remove it yourself by doing a clean boot, as described in this guide. But that takes a bit of tedious work. Disabling it, as I explained, is enough.
