Microsoft is sending us its second round of security patches this year, the February batch, in the middle of 2025. In order to fix the most recent vulnerabilities found in Windows and other company products, the company advises installing them as soon as possible.
The software giant sends us its monthly patches on the second Tuesday of every month, as I am sure many of you are already well aware.
We are currently dealing with a number of cumulative updates for Windows versions that are still supported, which occurred a few hours ago.
They are very important, as they, among other things, fix the latest security vulnerabilities in the system.
It is worth noting that in this specific case, Microsoft sends us its updates for the latest version of Windows 10 and the latest two versions of Windows 11, and it works to solve a large number of security vulnerabilities that are divided into two categories according to their importance, as we will see below.
To give you a better idea, for example, the latest Windows 11 update discovered 35 security vulnerabilities, two of which were considered critical.
- Windows 10 version 22H2: 31 vulnerabilities fixed, one critical and 30 important.

- Windows 11 version 24H2: 35 new vulnerabilities were recently discovered, two of which are critical and 33 are rated as important.
If we focus on the different updates that have been released in this case, let's say that if you are running Windows 10 version 22H2, your computer will receive KB5051974, which also fixes bugs related to USB cameras and audio DACs.
On the other hand, Windows 11 version 22H2 and 23H2 users are receiving the KB5051989 update, which also fixes bugs in File Explorer and OneDrive cloud storage service.
