This 4-year-old Samsung phone is currently getting a significant update
As it prepares for the arrival of the February 2025 Android update for the best devices in its catalog, Samsung does not forget about its older smartphones and continues to update them with the penultimate Android security patch, which corresponds to January 2025. A good proof of this is that the Korean brand has started rolling out the January security update to one of the most popular Galaxy A phones in recent years, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G.
As we can read in the specialized media SamMobile, the South Korean giant has started releasing the January 2025 Android update for the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G with build number A528BXXSAGYA2.
The new firmware arriving for the Galaxy A52s 5G includes the January 2025 security patch, which fixes 51 privacy and security issues. Of these vulnerabilities, 29 were discovered and fixed by Google, while the remaining 22 were fixed by Samsung, affecting only Galaxy devices.
The January 2025 security patch also fixes a number of general bugs in the One UI and improves the performance and stability of the nearly 4-year-old mid-range Galaxy device.
It is worth noting that Samsung launched the Galaxy A52s 5G at the end of 2021 with Android 11, and after a few months it was updated to Android 12, and at the end of 2022 it received the update to Android 13, and after a year it was updated to Android 14. This will be the last OS update that will reach the Galaxy A52s 5G, as this device is not eligible to receive Android 15 with One UI 7.0.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G and want to apply this new security update, all you have to do is go to the Settings panel of your smartphone, access the Software Update section, and tap on the Download and Install button.
