Something long anticipated will soon be introduced by WhatsApp. scheduling events in private chats

The world’s most widely used instant messaging app, owned by Meta, continues to roll out new features aimed at making life easier. The company is reportedly working on expanding its event planning feature, which is currently only available in groups, to include one-on-one chats.

Imagine being able to create an event with your partner to go to the movies or plan a dinner with your friends… all without having to leave the app. It will soon be possible. The Events feature, which is already in the beta testing phase of the app, will allow WhatsApp users to create events within any chat.

Just like in groups, you can set the event name, date, time, description, location, and even a link to a video call. Additionally, you can set an end time for the event so that participants have a clear idea of how long the event will last. More than enough data to ensure that everything is perfectly controlled and referenced.

This new feature is part of Meta’s strategy, WhatsApp’s parent company, to turn the app into a comprehensive tool that covers the communication and organizational needs of its users. The idea is that you can manage your events, schedule reminders, and coordinate appointments without having to resort to other apps like calendars or diaries.

With this update, WhatsApp positions itself as a direct competitor to other event planning apps—and even gets ahead of Apple, which is rumored to be developing its own planning app called Confetti.
