Perplexity Introduces a Deep Search Tool That Is Now Free to Use
By introducing a new deep search function called Deep Research, which is comparable to tools provided by Google and OpenAI, Perplexity has made significant progress. This feature allows users to conduct comprehensive research and analysis quickly and efficiently.
Deep Research can be finished in less than three minutes by performing a web search, evaluating the results, and creating a summary report for the user.
According to information provided on the Perplexity blog, this tool promises to facilitate access to relevant information in a quick manner.
One of the highlights of this launch is that Perplexity is offering deep search for free to all users. However, free users will have a daily query limit, while pro users can enjoy unlimited queries.
In terms of feature accuracy, Deep Research achieved 20.5% accuracy on Humanity's Last Exam, outperforming other models but still lagging behind OpenAI.
This feature is already available on the web version of Perplexity and is expected to be available soon on platforms like iOS, Android, and Mac. On the web, users can select the “Deep Search” option from the mode selector in the search box to start using this new tool.
