Next week, new products from Apple will be available. Here's what to anticipate
Mark Gurman reports that Apple will announce its first items of the year in just a few days. Here's what we can expect, as well as some surprises.
iPhone SE 4
Apple's new iPhone is almost ready. The iPhone SE hasn't been upgraded since 2022, so it's ready for an upgrade.
The new iPhone SE 4 is set to debut next week and will have a slew of exciting innovations.
Here's what's coming.
OLED edge-to-edge display.
Face ID with a notch
A18 chip
USB-C Charging
8 GB RAM
Apple Intelligence Support
48 Megapixel Camera
Plus Apple's in-house 5G modem.
Many of these capabilities were initially introduced in the iPhone 16 just a few months ago, so seeing them in Apple's cheaper model is quite fascinating.
The current iPhone SE begins at $429, while the upcoming SE 4 may start at $499. Even with a price rise, this will undoubtedly be the finest iPhone for the majority of consumers.
Powerbeats Pro 2
Gurman also believes that at least one more Apple product will be released next week: the Powerbeats Pro 2.
Apple and Beats have been teasing the new PowerBeats Pro 2 for a while, including recent sightings of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
Gurman anticipates the improved earphones to be available "as early as February 11."
According to an iOS 18 beta leak, the new Powerbeats Pro will have a sleeker look and be available in purple, orange, and light brown.
One of the major attractions will be the introduction of a heart-rate sensor, which is scheduled to be included in the AirPods Pro 3 later this year.
Wildcards include M4 MacBook Air, M3 iPad Air, and iPad 11.
Gurman has expressly said that the new iPhone SE 4 and Powerbeats Pro 2 would be released next week. However, he suggested that other product launches might be in the works.
The M4 MacBook Air, for example, is projected to arrive around now. Gurman earlier mentioned that this may be the first Apple product announcement of the year.
According to reports, stock of existing MacBook Air models is "dwindling" at Apple retail outlets. This might indicate that the M4 debut is approaching.
Similarly, Gurman reports that the M2 iPad Air has been especially low in stock at Apple Stores. The upcoming M3 upgrade may arrive sooner than planned.
Finally, Apple's base model iPad will receive an 11th generation upgrade shortly. It was believed that the M3 iPad Air and the new A17 Pro iPad will be released around the same time.
Apple's latest product launches: a roundup
All of these prospective product debuts, combined with rumors of the first iOS 18.4 beta's arrival, may make for a very exciting week at Apple.
Perhaps we'll see multiple days of product debuts in a row, like Apple did in October with the M4 Mac introductions.
Apple's staggered rollout plan seems to be a success, so here's hoping it happens again next week.
