Here's how to use iCloud on an Android phone just like you would with an iPhone app

One of the main reasons why Android users don’t usually use iOS products (and vice versa) is that these two operating systems are designed to operate as closed ecosystems. The integration between iOS and Android is practically non-existent, and you often have to resort to third-party tricks and workarounds to enjoy the services of one ecosystem in another.

A clear example of this is iCloud, the famous cloud service from Apple that to this day does not have an official application on another mobile operating system... Does this mean that you cannot access your iCloud account on Android? No, because there is a very simple trick to use iCloud on Android as if it were an application, and below, we will tell you how to do it.

- How to use iCloud on your Android mobile phone

The first thing you need to know is that iCloud doesn’t have an official app for Android. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the features offered by Apple’s cloud service through your Android device.

Because? Because iCloud has a web client that works very well in Android mobile browsers like Chrome, Opera, etc. Additionally, Chrome has an option that allows you to create an iCloud shortcut on your Android home screen as if it were an app downloaded from the Google Play Store. Here are the steps to do it:

- Open Google Chrome and access the iCloud website using the following link.

- Once there, click Sign In and enter your iCloud credentials (Apple ID and password), and then click Trust This Browser.

- Doing so will unlock your iCloud account with all the features Apple's cloud service offers (access to photos, videos, emails, and the Find My Device function).

- Finally, if you want to have an iCloud shortcut on Android as if it were an app, you have to tap on the menu button (the one with the three vertical dots in the upper right corner) and then choose the “Add to Home Screen” option.
