Have a boundaryless conversation WhatsApp is getting ready to incorporate machine translation for conversations in real time

One of the cool features that might arrive on WhatsApp in 2025 is a real-time translation tool so that there are no language barriers when chatting with any contact.

What we knew before is that the user has to download a series of language packs to his device for all translations to be done on it, thus enhancing privacy and security.

In this case, the user may have to select the corresponding language for translation in each conversation, which can be a problem in group chats where there may be many users using different languages.

Well, as reported by Wabetainfo, in the latest beta version of the messaging app, Meta was found to be developing a function to automate the language selection process.

This means that WhatsApp itself will automatically detect the language that appears in the group chat or in the individual conversation and will translate it directly without user intervention.

However, for this to work, users must have previously downloaded the relevant language packs that appear in the individual or group conversation, so it is always advisable to download the most popular ones so that this auto-detection function works perfectly.

This new automatic language detection feature will apparently require an additional 24 MB download, but if you're not interested in it, you can delete it and download it again when you need it.

On the other hand, we can also delete the language packs we have downloaded at any time through the app storage settings.
