After Windows 10's support ends, there is a workaround that lets you keep updating the operating system

The significance of this change is far greater than it first seems, and it has been discussed for a long time. We are talking about the end of support for Windows 10, the operating system that most people love and will have to abandon in a few months.

The majority of users still prefer to use Windows 10 even though Microsoft is committed to the newest version of the program, Windows 11.

All this despite the fact that it is almost obsolete and will soon stop receiving updates of all kinds, including security updates. This means that starting on October 14 of this year, the operating system that many of you use on your computers will become vulnerable and even dangerous.

Attackers will surely take advantage of the company's decision to stop sending patches and updates, at least not for free, after that point. This is something we have seen on other occasions in the past, for example, with other very successful proposals of this type, such as Windows 7 or XP. This is precisely why Microsoft has been trying for some time to convince most users to upgrade to Windows 11 as soon as possible.

The end of support for the previous version will become a problem for many users, especially those with computers that are not compatible with the official hardware requirements for Windows 11.

- You can receive Windows 10 updates without paying.

One solution to all of this today is Microsoft’s Extended Support Updates, or ESU. This release was originally intended for Windows 7, where businesses could pay to extend support for up to three additional years.

For Windows 10, this has been extended to home users as well. Accordingly, the software giant charges regular users $30 for a year of extended security updates, a time limit for those users. Business customers can extend this support for three years or even more.

It is worth noting that when Microsoft announced this extended program for Windows 7, solutions were discovered online that would allow these updates to be available on any Windows 7 computer, without the need to pay. This is something that has been extended even to computers that have not officially registered for the company’s extended support.

This means that computers will continue to receive updates from Microsoft, even after official support ends, without paying any money. In fact, these programs are still working five years after Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 7, albeit only in the 64-bit version.

At this point, we can now confirm that tests by some have shown that this method also works on Windows 10 computers. This will allow security updates after October 2025 to be unlocked on systems that have the patch installed, for free.

But of course, we must take into account that this system is illegal, and moreover, updates for Windows 10 Home cannot be extended for more than a year. For Windows 10 Pro devices, support will be extended for at least another three years.
