The Odd Tasks Bill Gates Still Performs for Microsoft After His Retirement
The company behind Windows and many other major products around the world took a big step in 2000, when Bill Gates stepped down as CEO.
Steve Ballmer held the position until 2014, when Satya Nadella, the current CEO of Microsoft, took over until further notice.
Although Gates appears to be retired after serving as co-founder since 1975, the businessman is still an employee of the famous company, but not in the way you might imagine.
At the age of 69, Bill Gates has taken on a role that many observers might not have expected: technology advisor.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, he stated that he spends about 15% of his time reviewing products to help the company.
When he stepped down as CEO, he was still involved with Microsoft in various related areas, but he decided to “step down” in 2020, so he would do so without the spotlight.
“I love doing product reviews; it’s something I find myself drawn to. It’s probably 15% of my time. It helps me stay informed. I have a clear vision of all the amazing work the company continues to do in my current role as a technology advisor, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.” - Bill Gates
According to him, it is one of the most important activities for him because it allows him to stay up to date with everything that is happening regarding technology, and it is not as demanding as it seems.
Although he is not directly affiliated with Microsoft, his good relationship with Satya Nadella and his desire to continue devoting his time to what he loves is admirable, since he is not completely retired.
Bill Gates continues to give advice to anyone who needs it. This is undoubtedly a clear example of effort and dedication.
