Some iPhones are still experiencing alarm problems after a full year. Be careful if your alarm doesn't ring in the morning

It is normal for the operating system of the manufacturer in question to cause some problems. Whether it is a custom layer or pure software, it is common to find specific bugs, which are then solved by updating. Although it seems that Apple has been choked by the failure of the iPhone alarm.

To put things in context, in late April of last year, reports began to emerge of problems with the iPhone’s alarm. A bug picked up by all sorts of media outlets, echoing complaints from Apple users who couldn’t hear the alarm.

Now, nearly a year after the issue surfaced, Apple has been unable to find a solution to the problem. Yes, you only have to look at the Reddit forums to see that there are still users complaining about their iPhone alarm clock failing. If you use it to get up and go to work, you risk not waking up. But what happens?

Well, the truth is that it is a complete mystery, since Apple acknowledged the problem but did not fix it. Obviously, we are talking about a bug that was more difficult to fix than the company expected, as it first appeared on April 30, 2024.

This is a rather strange bug, where the alarm notification appears on your iPhone, but it doesn’t ring. Other times, the alarm will go off, but at a completely irrelevant time, especially if you have an Apple Watch paired with its own alarms.

Worst of all, this isn't an issue affecting just a few iPhones, but a widespread bug discovered in both iOS 17 and iOS 18. So it's not a one-off bug affecting any particular model, and worst of all, there's no fix yet.

If you have an iPhone running iOS 17 or higher and are having issues with the alarm, we fear you will have to wait until Apple fixes this bug that has been around since April 30. It is best to use another device as an alarm to make sure it wakes you up on time...
