How to access your computer's BIOS without having to restart Windows

BIOS is one of the components of our computer that can be considered essential. Through it, we can perform security adjustments, safe reboots, and other basic tasks. Previously, accessing it required restarting the computer, but now there is an alternative to that.

Windows has integrated a tool to access this part of our computer without having to manually restart the computer. This can only be done in Windows 10 and 11, and we will try to explain it to those who want to save valuable time when making basic adjustments.

First, we will have to open the configuration section of our computer by pressing (Windows key + I). Once there, we will go to the Update & Security tab.

Once you log in, you will be able to find the recovery section. In the menu that will appear you will find an option called “Advanced startup” where it will give you the option through the corresponding tab “Restart now”

This feature will direct your computer's activity to the BIOS without resorting to the traditional method of turning it off using the computer's power button.

Once you complete the steps, you will notice that your computer will restart, but not in the standard way. This time, a section called “Windows Recovery Environment” will be displayed. Finally, to go directly to our destination, select “Troubleshoot” and “Advanced Options”. As you can see, you now have the option to access your BIOS through the UEFI Firmware Settings section.

These steps allow you to enter BIOS directly without having to press historically assigned keys like F2 or Esc.

Please note that if you are using a user password, you will be prompted for it before any edit options are available.
