An indestructible flash drive with a lifespan of over 200 years is created in Germany. It costs 29 euros to order

If you're looking for a USB flash drive that will outlast you for generations, the Blaustahl USB flash drive made in Germany lasts for 200 years.
NAND flash memory is widely used today, in SSDs, USB flash drives, internal storage in cell phones and laptops, etc., because it is very fast. But it is not built to last.
Modern storage drives use very fast memory, at the cost of a limited lifespan. NAND flash memory used in flash drives, SSDs, and microSD cards lasts between 16 and 20 years, at temperatures not exceeding 33 degrees Celsius.
The Blaustahl indestructible USB flash drive, which is now available for purchase, is even faster than traditional drives, thanks to its use of FRAM. It only has 8KB of FRAM, which may not sound like much, but you can store a lot of important stuff in that small amount of space.
FRAM, or ferroelectric RAM, is an ultra-low-power memory with high write speed and the ability to support up to one million read/write cycles. It can store data for up to 200 years at a maximum temperature of 35 °C. The higher the temperature, the lower the life expectancy.
This drive provides only 8KB of FRAM, which is managed by the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller. It includes a built-in text editor compatible with PuTTY, TeraTerm, and Minicom, so you can write whatever you want on the flash drive without the need for additional software.
What's even more shocking is that it only takes up 8 kilobytes of space. That's just 8,182 bytes. In text, that's about 8,000 characters, or about a four-page document.
It may not seem like a lot of space, but four pages of text can be a big step when it comes to important information you want to preserve for 200 years.
The manufacturer Machdyne explains that its function is to store passwords, private cryptocurrency keys, notes/lists, time capsules, or for developers working with FRAM memory.
