If you have an iPhone or any other Apple device, be very careful of this scam
A new scam is affecting Apple users, trying to steal your Apple account credentials through a fake email warning that your Apple account may be suspended and asking you to enter your login details to verify that everything is fine.
Through an email titled “Your Apple ID has been suspended,” the attackers are grabbing the data of thousands of people by asking them to log in through the link that accompanies the email to verify that everything is in order. A detail that could help identify the scam is that the Apple ID is no longer called that, as in iOS 18, it was renamed to an Apple ID.
In the email, along with the link, a message appears urging you to immediately resolve the issue by entering your credentials to resolve the supposed Apple ID suspension. This required urgency usually leads victims to fall for the scam fearing that the issue is real.
Another aspect to take into account in these cases is that if there is a problem with our Apple account, legitimate emails will always direct us to the company's official website or give us the option to contact technical support to resolve any incident.
If you fall for this or similar scam, it’s best to change your Apple ID password and enable two-factor authentication if it’s not already enabled. This can be done through your account’s privacy and security settings, making it more difficult for someone to access your account without permission.
