Gmail is adding this new feature and Google says everyone should know about it because it's useful
If you are a Gmail user for Android, you will be interested to know that the app has just been updated with a really useful improvement. This makes it easier when we type the wrong field when writing email addresses.
Until now, if you typed a contact address in the wrong field, you had to delete it and retype it in the correct field, which was a waste of time. As Google responded , from now on it will be enough to drag and drop our contact addresses into the address fields.
If the feature we're talking about sounds familiar to you, it's probably because it's been available for a long time on the web version of Gmail. However, it wasn't available on the Gmail for Android app, a situation that the company has been able to resolve thanks to a recent update.
As we can see in the GIF that Google posted next to the announcement, the way the new feature works is very simple: instead of having to delete the recipient's address and retype it, we can now drag the contact to the corresponding field.
To try it out, simply open the Gmail app for Android and tap the button to compose a new email. Once you've typed in the contact's name, the app should let you move the contact from one field to another by holding down on the contact and dragging it to the appropriate location.
The company confirmed that the feature is now available to all users of personal Gmail accounts, which is a big plus. If you haven't received the update yet, we recommend that you try again in a few days.
