Say Goodbye to Nomophobia: Your Phone Will Warn You If You Spend Too Much Time Using an App

Nomophobia, or the fear of feeling disconnected from your mobile phone, has become a major concern for millions of people. Manufacturers are aware of this problem and have started adding new features to improve digital disconnection.
Google’s Digital Wellbeing app for Android phones is integrating a new feature that will help you spend less time on your phone. It now includes a new feature that more subtly alerts users if they’ve exceeded their screen time using a particular app. The reminder will be displayed at the top.
Android Authority spotted the first changes in the beta version of the Digital Wellbeing app and has now confirmed that the update is available to early adopters. Google has added a Screen Time Reminders feature.
Google has been working on a new floating notification system in Digital Wellbeing for weeks. The feature, known as “Screen Time Reminders,” will send a notification to Android phones and stay in the foreground at all times.
Users will be able to select which apps they want the floating window to appear in or set it to activate only after a certain usage. The notification will display the usage time and will recommend closing the app when the recommended limit is reached.
Digital Wellbeing will ask you to close the app if you use it for too long, but it will not block the app.
The feature is now available to some users. Google typically rolls out updates to all devices in a phased manner, so it may take a few days for your screen time reminders to reach you.
