Cybersecurity is a growing concern for millions of Android users, and the emergence of malicious apps makes it even more difficult to keep sensitive information safe. Hackers will take advantage of this opportunity to access victims’ private and banking data.

Google reviews the apps hosted on the Google Play Store, but it also doesn’t remove some that harbor malware that takes full control of devices. The platform houses nearly 2.7 million apps, some of which have managed to escape the tech giant’s restrictions.

The list of apps that spy on mobile phones has been expanded by adding 200 new apps just two weeks ago, and now 12 more apps have been added that start audio recordings in the background and access users' private data:

- Rafaqat

- Private Talk

- Meet Me

- Let's Chat

- Quick Chat

- Chit Chat

- YohooTalk

- TikTalk

- Hello Chat

- Nest

- GlowChat

- Wave Chat

Hackers often use unofficial channels to insert malware into apps, but experts say it's increasingly common to find it in the Google Play Store.

After catching you, cybercriminals will be able to access information related to your Android environment, as well as personal data stored on the mobile phone. Scammers can steal your contact number to use in new scams, read the content of messages, review call history, geolocation, and files inside the device.

If you have any of these apps above, you should uninstall it as soon as possible.
