Your Phone Will Become Terrifying.Android Will Allow You To Install Linux Apps On Your Mobile Phone Or Tablet

Linux and Android have always been intrinsically linked, based on the fact that Android is based on the free desktop operating system developed by Linus Torvalds. In fact, in the Google Play Store, you can find applications like Termux that allow you to install Linux on your Android mobile phone and access its servers using the SSH protocol.

Well, now Google wants to take the integration of the two operating systems one step further, as we just learned that the company is working on enabling Android to install Linux apps on smartphones and tablets.

A recent report by Android expert Mishaal Rahman at Android Authority claims that Google engineers have been working on a new terminal app for Android for a few weeks.

This app is part of the AVF software and contains a WebView that connects to your Linux virtual machine through a local IP address, which will allow you to execute Linux commands directly from your Android device.

This means that with the new Android Terminal, you'll be able to run a Debian virtual machine, one of the most widely used Linux distributions in the world, on your smartphone, in a way very similar to what desktop computers do.

This new feature will soon arrive on the big Android operating system, most likely with Android 16 and a good proof of this is that, as you can see in the screenshot that we leave you above these lines, it has already been tested on Google phones with the code names "komodo" and "tangorpro".
