Meta seems clear that WhatsApp needs to become a video calling service on par with Teams or Zoom. In recent weeks, a series of new features have been unveiled to improve the experience when making a video call. Among these improvements, filters and backgrounds have stood out. But WhatsApp is preparing a more professional change: video call links.

Thanks to WABetaInfo , WhatsApp's plans have become known. The specialized media has analyzed the latest beta version of the WhatsApp application for Android. This is version 2.24.19.14, the version that revealed this novelty that Meta is preparing for WhatsApp.

What has been discovered in this beta is the ability to create links within WhatsApp so that you can then make video calls. These links will only work for one-on-one video calls and for group video calls.

In order to create one of these links, you will simply need to open the WhatsApp attachments drop-down menu. At the end of the menu you will find a new shortcut that will be called “Call Link” in English or “Call Link” in Arabic.

By clicking on this icon, a drop-down menu will open where you will find the call link. The user can copy and paste this link into any conversation or group, but he can also send it directly to the conversation or group in which it was displayed.

This feature is really useful for organizing video calls, you will just need to get this link and click on it to start this type of communication within WhatsApp. In fact, it can be interesting on a business level.

There are many company profiles inside WhatsApp, and now they have a tool to make video calls without having to log into WhatsApp. This link can be shared through other means such as emails.

For now, this feature has only appeared in the beta version of Android. WhatsApp has not commented anything about its launch, so we will have to stay tuned to see how this process progresses. In the next few weeks, we may see this novelty in the stable version of WhatsApp.
