Razer Launches Vibrating Gaming Chair Pad

At Razercon, Razer announced the launch of the Razer Freya vibrating gaming pad that you can attach to your gaming chair for $300.

The vibration you get from the Razer Freya is an extension of the vibration you get from gaming controllers.

Instead of just shaking your hands, the pad vibrates several panels positioned behind and beneath you in response to things happening in the game for increased immersion.

Razer says the multi-directional vibration feedback the pad delivers is powered by six advanced vibration motors. The pad connects via Bluetooth or the Razer HyperSpeed wireless connection.

Most of the time, this vibration is affected by the sound in whatever game you're playing, the music you're listening to, or the movie you're watching.

Razer lists Final Fantasy 16, Silent Hill 2, and Stalker 2 as games that benefit from Razer Sensa HD vibration-generating technology.

This means that developers have programmed support specifically into these games and tied it to specific actions. It is easy to support future games through a plugin for Unreal Engine 5.

Razer introduced the Project Esther version of the Razer Freya at CES. At the time, it was unclear whether the company planned to release the product or not.

It should be noted that there are vibrating jackets, vibrating chairs, and vibrating chair accessories, although there was no vibrating pad before the Razer Freya was released.

The company also introduced the Razer Kraken V4 Pro, a new version of the Razer Kraken V4 headset that makes your head vibrate, for $400.

Like the Razer Freya, the Razer Kraken V4 Pro uses Razer HyperSpeed wireless and Bluetooth technology, in addition to wired connections.

The Razer Kraken V4 Pro headset comes with a small box called the OLED Control Hub to adjust vibration feedback, select inputs, or adjust effects, and the headset has RGB lights.
