Oppo officially unveils the new ColorOS 15 system

During an event held in China, Oppo announced the launch of its new interface, ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. This version included many modifications to the user interface, with clear inspiration from the design of Apple's iOS system.

OPPO confirmed that it paid great attention to the animation effects in ColorOS 15, as it added two engines called “Aurora” and “Tidal” to improve the smoothness of animation effects and switching between applications. These new changes allow animation effects to run in parallel, which enhances performance speed when switching between applications.

OPPO announced improvements to the motion effects applied to both its own and third-party apps. App installation speed has also improved by 26%, and app responsiveness has increased by 18%.

ColorOS 15 includes a separation between the notification panel and quick settings, a feature that Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi have adopted in their systems in the past. However, the company did not clarify the possibility of customizing this change in the settings.

ColorOS 15 will see greater use of AI in image processing and editing, with users able to take advantage of features such as deblurring, image sharpening, and reflection removal, and AI will be able to summarise content effectively.

Oppo has introduced a feature similar to iOS's Dynamic Island, and has added a highly customizable lock screen.

Users can apply multiple lock screen settings and separate background parts, such as placing a photo over the clock. OPPO's smart assistant also features a strong resemblance to Apple's Siri interface.

The company is set to unveil the OPPO Find X8 series, which is scheduled to be released on October 24, with ColorOS 15 installed by default.
