Oppo adds camera control button to Find X8 phones like iPhone 16
Oppo has confirmed that the upcoming Find X8 series will feature a dedicated camera button, similar to the camera control button on Apple's iPhone 16 .
The Find X8 series is expected to launch in China at the end of October, and will reach global markets later in 2025.
The company is investing significant resources to improve the photography experience and enhance the camera performance of its flagship phones.
The camera button on the Find X8 series has caught the attention of users, as Zhou Yibao, Find Product Manager at Oppo, revealed how the button works in a video on the Chinese social networking site Weibo.
The new button is very similar to what Apple introduced in the iPhone 16, but it requires two consecutive presses to open the camera app, unlike the iPhone button that opens the app with one press.
The camera button allows users to control zoom by swiping on the button, which facilitates the shooting experience and enhances image stability.
Oppo did not reveal whether the button will enable users to open other applications, as is the case in the iPhone 16 phones.
Apple's new camera control button allows for a variety of gestures to quickly open the camera app and take a photo or record a video using a force and touch sensor. A light press can open controls such as zoom, focus lock, and exposure, or a double press can access other options such as exposure or depth. When swiping, you can navigate through the available editing options and change some of the parameters.
Full details of the Find X8 series are scheduled to be announced on October 24.
