One of my old Samsung phones is getting the most important Android update for October
Samsung promised that it would update the best phones in its portfolio, whether the latest flagships or other devices that went on sale a few years ago, with the latest Android security patch, and for another month, the South Korean company is keeping its promise. The good evidence of this is that Samsung has started rolling out the October Android update to the latest members of the defunct Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
A recent report from specialized media outlet SamMobile has revealed that the Korean giant has started releasing the October 2024 Android update to the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in Switzerland, and it is expected to reach models in the rest of the countries over time in the coming few weeks.
This new security update arrives for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra from Switzerland with the firmware version ending with HXJ1, which, as it could not be otherwise, includes the October 2024 security update. This new security update arrives to address a total of 42 security and privacy issues, 30 of which were discovered by Google itself and the remaining 12 affected Galaxy devices only.
Likewise, this security patch also fixes a fair number of general UI bugs that were discovered in previous versions of One UI and improves the stability and performance of these two terminals in the Galaxy Note family.
Once this new security update is available in all countries, you can apply it on your Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra by following the usual steps: access the Settings menu of your smartphone, enter the Software Update section and click on the Download and Install button.
