No one will fool you: Google Photos will tell you if any image was created or edited using artificial intelligence
Google didn’t want to be left behind in the race to integrate AI, which is present in practically every app in its ecosystem. The company knows that it’s hard to tell the difference between an image created using AI, and it set out to make it easier in Google Photos.
The app will have a new section in the info dropdown box that opens on the images. Here you will see data such as size, resolution, location, protection type and a new section “AI info” or AI info translated into Arabic.
This section adds a “Created with AI” label to photos that have been edited using AI. The app also shows whether or not the metadata of this photo can be edited later.
Google has finally confirmed that this new feature is coming to Google Photos. The new AI Info section will be available to all users next week, although it may take a little longer to reach some devices as Google's hardware updates are rolling out in stages.
At Android Authority , they tested the beta version of Google Photos v7.3 and analyzed the changes in the XML code: it will differentiate between photos edited with AI and those created with one of these tools. It will show a “Credit” label if they were created with AI and a “Type of digital resource” if they were edited with AI.
