New Crisis Facing Windows 11 Users After 24H2 Update
Microsoft's latest Windows 11 update (24H2) has caused serious crashes for some users, with computers running certain SSDs experiencing Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) issues.
This problem comes after a series of technical errors associated with the new update, which raised concerns among users and led to widespread discussions in technical forums.
According to the Windows Latest technical website, the 24H2 update for Windows 11 led to the system crashing and the appearance of what is known as the “Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)” for some users, and the main reasons are due to the incompatibility of some versions of storage disks produced by Western Digital and SanDisk.
This issue comes after a series of issues that emerged as a result of the Windows 11 (24H2) update that included driver-related crashes, undeletable cache files, internet disconnections, and more.
Based on user testimonials, the issue has been observed particularly in Western Digital's SN770 and SN580 SSDs.
These crashes are currently presumed to be caused by faulty drivers for these versions. According to some users, reinstalling Windows 11 or removing and reinstalling the disks does not solve the problem. However, some experts have resorted to more complex solutions, including disabling the HMB feature in the Windows Registry.
Disabling this feature may negatively impact performance, but it will prevent the Blue Screen of Death from appearing until Microsoft issues a final solution.
Microsoft and Western Digital are reportedly aware of the issue and are working to fix it, but neither has issued an official statement yet.
