Instagram Launches Profile Cards and Here's What They're For
Instagram is undergoing significant changes throughout this year to appeal to younger users. Now the social network is preparing to bring digital business cards to profiles. Users will be able to provide a summary of their activities on Instagram including a profile picture, bio, links, song and QR code.
Instagram profile cards have two rotating sides thanks to the “Add to Story” option. The first allows you to add a photo, bio-style text and music, while the second allows you to customize the background and add a QR, link or bookmarks.
Profile cards let you share your Instagram information without sending your name. Users can use the “Share” button to post their account or add a QR link to their profile, website, or anywhere else they care about.
Creators will be able to use profile cards to collaborate with brands and influencers, or to spread information to their community through events and product launches. Meta is testing the feature with select users before rolling it out to the millions of people who use the social network.
Instagram aims to improve personal accounts to make them more attractive. The purpose of the social network is to increase the communication possibilities of users. This trend has been followed for a few months with features such as the ability to pin up to three posts to the top of the feed or share collaborative content with other users.
