If you receive this email from Google, ignore it immediately A new scam through which they want to hack your Gmail
Scammers never stop evolving, and worst of all, they use new technology that comes along to their advantage. In this particular case, there is a new scam circulating that you should be aware of.
It targets Gmail users, with criminals pretending to be Google representatives. This time, they’re not just spoofing emails, but also using 100% real-looking phone numbers and AI-generated voices to trick their victims.
Sam Mitrovic, a computer security expert, wanted to share his experience with this trap. It all started with him receiving a message asking him to recover his account. When he refused, he received a call from a number that appeared to be from Google. Although he initially ignored the call, a week later, when it came back, he decided to answer.
What followed was a masterclass in social engineering. A very professional American voice informed him of alleged suspicious activity on his account. The phone number even showed up in official Google listings. But alarm bells started ringing when Mitrovic received a follow-up email.
Although the email initially appeared to come from Google, when he looked at it more closely, he saw everything. The sender’s address, disguised as “GoogleMail at InternalCaseTracking dot com,” was the first clue that something was amiss. Mitrovic also noted that the voice during the call was too perfect to be human: it was generated by artificial intelligence.
You, as a user, can protect yourself in a simple way. According to experts, the first thing is to be aware of the real risks that actually occur. On the other hand, you can activate two-factor authentication and, above all, maintain a healthy skepticism about anything they communicate with you, no matter how official it may seem. Remember: Google will never ask you for sensitive information by phone or email.
