Hurry Up and Update Duolingo: The Popular Language Learning App Gets Its Biggest Change Ever

Among the many language learning apps available on iOS and Android, the one that stands out the most and that we recommend the most is undoubtedly Duolingo. Not for anything specific, but because we are looking at an app that is perfectly executed, with an easy-to-use interface, functions that make learning a language fun and, above all, an ease of use that makes it 100% accessible to everyone.

The app's creators just announced at their Duocon conference a few days ago that the biggest update to Duolingo in its entire history is already on the way, with new adventures and lessons powered by artificial intelligence. As well as a video calling function that will delight the most advanced users.

AI-powered video calls are introduced where we can enjoy these video calls with the character Lily, which will allow us to train our conversation skills in real time and in more realistic environments, eliminating the pressure of speaking in person in a non-native language.

Video calls provide more interactive and personalized practice, with natural dialogues and the aim of increasing our confidence while learning.

There are also language restrictions, which is that we will only be able to talk to Lily in English, Spanish, or French at least for now, although Duolingo promises to offer other languages very soon to continue growing.

Regarding the second novelty, these are adventures that are also based on artificial intelligence and in this case they can be enjoyed in the free versions of Duolingo.

With the new adventures we will be able to learn in new scenarios that follow the same character Lily, where Óscar will accompany her to explore with us stories and scenes in which we can apply the lessons to real-world situations.

Of course, Duolingo is still free on iOS and Android, although it does have a paid subscription that adds more ways to learn languages.
