How to restrict apps from consuming phone data on Android?
There is no doubt that mobile data is a very valuable resource, and it is necessary to always keep it under control, because it is the only vital source that keeps the phone alive when away from the local network at home or in the office. One of the best ways to control mobile data is to constantly check the amount of data consumed by mobile applications, and then seek a suitable solution to reduce this amount as much as possible.
Fortunately, there are several ways to help restrict apps from running in the background, or even by relying on the “Lite” versions of the original apps. We will now show you how to stop apps that use a lot of phone data on the Android system .
How to identify which apps are consuming the most data
First, go to Settings, then Network & Internet, then Mobile/Cellular network, then App Data Usage.
Here you will find the amount of data consumed by apps over a specific period of time that you may set. Click on any app and you will see how much data it consumes when it is running or in the background.
The first step is to slide the bar icon to disable Background data. If you find that your phone does not support this feature, you can rely on the My Data Manager app.
Another way to restrict all apps from consuming mobile data at once is through the built-in option in Android. Just go to Settings > Internet & Web > Data Save and by enabling it, many apps will be restricted from using mobile data while they are in the background. That’s all you need.
