Google Photos app will help you identify images generated by AI
Images generated by artificial intelligence are becoming commonplace. In fact, there are many cases where it is difficult to know whether an image is real or generated by artificial intelligence. This is exactly what Google Photos wants to solve.
Or so it appears from a recent post at Android Authority where they found hints at a future feature that will allow Google Photos to provide image information so you know if it was created by AI.
This way, whether they are photos sent to you or created by you, you will see that Google Photos will be able to label them as AI-generated so it knows how to distinguish them from real models. Additionally, you will also be able to determine whether AI-based editing tools have been used in the image.
As the media mentioned above explained, Google Photos will integrate a function that can display image information generated by AI. For example, if a photo was created using Gemini, the Photos app will label it as “Created with Google AI.” Additionally, you can access the EXIF data of the photo .
On the other hand, if you edit a photo using Google Photos' AI features, you'll also see text that says "Generated by AI using Google Photos," or "Generated by AI using Google."
At the moment, it is too early to know when this system will be implemented, which will allow Google Photos to detect any image that was created or edited by artificial intelligence. But it is clearly a very smart move on Google’s part. It will help users know whether an image was created by artificial intelligence or is real.
