Google launches NotebookLM tool for businesses
Google has announced the launch of a paid version of its AI-powered notes and research tool NotebookLM for businesses and organizations.
This version, called NotebookLM Business , will include enhanced features for businesses, universities, and organizations, and interested parties can now access it through a beta program that provides early access to new features, along with training and email support.
Google said that participants in the pilot program will benefit from “enhanced capabilities designed to increase productivity and collaboration,” including higher usage limits and new features such as customizing notebooks and sharing them with team members.
The company explained that these features may open new areas of use for companies that rely on the tool.
Through the official website, Google indicated that the NotebookLM Business tool for companies can be useful in many areas, including marketing, training, sales, customer service, and product development, and stated that there are currently more than 80,000 different organizations that rely on the tool in their work.
Google confirmed that the paid version for businesses will maintain data privacy and security.
NotebookLM currently runs on Google's Gemini 1.5 AI model, and allows you to upload information sources from files, websites, and YouTube clips to view and ask questions about the data.
Another feature that will be available in NotebookLM Business is Audio Overview, which allows users to create audio summaries of content in a podcast-style format.
Google first announced NotebookLM in July last year, and it became publicly available in December. Recently, Google removed the “Beta” label from the tool, announcing the end of its beta phase.
Google is set to announce pricing details and a launch date for NotebookLM Business later this year.
