Edge will be the world's fastest browser and will far outperform Chrome This is the change Microsoft is preparing to make
Among the many projects that Microsoft is implementing, it is betting heavily on its web browser. We are referring to Edge, the web browsing program that we find by default in new Windows installations.
Given the fact that the browser-focused software sector is becoming increasingly important, Microsoft doesn’t want to be left behind. Hence the work it is doing little by little on its Edge browser to try to compete with the current leader Google Chrome. Although the road is still far, the fact is that it continues to gain followers day by day.
We are telling you all this because Microsoft has just announced that the browser will soon receive an important update that will significantly increase its performance. And since it couldn’t be otherwise, the goal is to make it the fastest browser on the market and available to everyone.
To a large extent, this performance boost will come thanks to WebUI 2.0. This targets Edge's settings to improve the responsiveness of the pages it hosts by default.
Furthermore, the company says it has been working on improving the performance of its Edge browser for some time. Already in May of this year, the company published some figures on the matter. It stated that the user interface was 42% faster. It also claimed at the time that overall performance could increase by 76% on older or limited hardware in terms of internal specifications.
Now, we can say that Microsoft’s main goal with WebUI 2.0 is to make the browser’s user interface much faster. These changes will come to us little by little during the upcoming Edge updates.
