Apple improves charging speed in iPhone 16 Pro phones

Apple has made several improvements to the iPhone 16 Pro series in terms of battery and heat management, the company announced, and it has also improved charging speed using wired charging or MagSafe wireless charging.

According to a new report from ChargerLAB, a company specializing in charging and battery life tests, the charging speed in the iPhone 16 Pro series has increased by 20% compared to the previous generation.

The ChargerLAB team conducted extensive testing of the charging capabilities of the iPhone 16 Pro Max specifically using a wide range of charging accessories, both from Apple and third-party companies.

The results showed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max charges 20% or more faster than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

It is worth noting that when using the standard Apple charger with its 20-watt capacity, the charging speed was almost equal between the two phones, reaching approximately 18 watts, but when using chargers with a higher capacity, the differences became clear.

The results showed that using a 35-watt charger is the minimum required to achieve the best possible charging speed of up to 30 watts, but increasing the charger's power beyond this limit will not lead to an additional improvement in charging speed.

Tests have shown that third-party chargers — such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Anker, and others — perform similarly to Apple chargers, with the same increase in charging speed compared to last year's versions.

To take advantage of the fast charging capabilities of the iPhone 16, it is recommended to use some accessories such as using a charger from a trusted brand with a power of 65 watts, or a 100-watt Apple charger to also use to charge iPads and Macs.

Apple announced that the new iPhone 16 phones support wireless charging using MagSafe technology with a capacity of up to 25 watts when using a suitable charger with a power of 30 watts or more, which is almost double the previous limit in the iPhone 15 phones, which is only 15 watts, so the iPhone 16 phones can be charged wirelessly up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

For the best wireless charging experience, we recommend using Apple's second-generation MagSafe dock.
