With this simple trick, you can find out your home Wi-Fi password or anyone else's
Every time you have a new device at home, you have to add it to your Wi-Fi network, whether it's a cell phone, smart speaker, tablet, laptop, smart plug, etc. Router passwords are bulky and sometimes hard to remember, so this trick will be very useful to you.
The first thing you should do when installing a router at home is to change the Wi-Fi password that comes by default, but it is important that you do not use any password or it will be easily stolen.
You should choose long, alphanumeric passwords, and ideally, add special characters that are difficult for hackers to crack, as long as the service allows it.
Changing your router's Wi-Fi password is easier than it sounds, but when time passes and you lose the paper you write it on, you automatically feel desperate for not remembering the password and thus connecting new devices to the network.
If you have a Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer, this trick will also help you recover your home Wi-Fi password.
Before starting the key rescue process, you should check if your Windows computer has connected to that Wi-Fi network:
- From the Start menu, click Settings, and then click Network & Internet.
- In the Status section, scroll down and click Network and Sharing Center.
- Now click on your Wi-Fi network name in the View your active networks section.
- When the Wi-Fi Status window opens, click Wireless Network Properties.
- Next, go to the “Security” tab and check the box next to “Show characters” to view your Wi-Fi password.
It is important not to share information with anyone, otherwise your safety may be at risk.
A very simple trick that will allow you to get out of trouble when you can't remember your wireless network password or even to help a friend or family member who can't remember the password on their Wi-Fi router.
