Will Apple announce the Apple Watch X at its next event?

Ten years ago, on September 9, 2014, Apple held an event to announce the iPhone 6. At the end of the event, a short video was shown showing details of Apple's first smart watch, and then CEO Tim Cook appeared on stage wearing the watch.

Ten years after the announcement of the first generation of the Apple Watch, on September 9, 2024, Apple will hold an event to announce the iPhone 16, and it is also expected to announce the tenth generation of its smart watch, the Apple Watch 10.

There have been some rumors that Apple might call the tenth generation of its smartwatch the Apple Watch X, and the reason for this is that Apple launched the iPhone X on the tenth anniversary of the launch of the first generation, and X does not stand for the English letter X, but rather the number 10 in Roman numeral writing.

However, there is no confirmed information about Apple's desire to unveil a special edition of its smartwatch called (Apple Watch X) at its upcoming event next month.

But as for the specifications of the upcoming Apple Watch model, regardless of its name, whether it is (Apple Watch X) or (Apple Watch 10), rumors indicate that the upcoming model will receive a somewhat modest upgrade compared to the previous model, and according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg , Apple is planning to launch a thinner version of the previous version, and he said that it is unlikely to look much different from the current models.

Apple is also working on features to detect high blood pressure and sleep apnea, but Gorman says those may not be ready for launch this year. Apple is said to be having reliability issues with the high blood pressure feature, which could delay its launch. The sleep apnea feature relies on the blood oxygen monitoring feature that Apple had to temporarily remove from its smartwatches due to patent issues.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned that this year's Apple Watch will have a thinner body and a larger display compared to the previous model, and Kuo expects the new watch to be available in two sizes: 45mm and 49mm, instead of 41mm and 45mm. However, Kuo did not indicate that the next Apple Watch might be called the Watch X.
