watchOS 11 for Apple Watch Launched
Apple has officially announced the launch of watchOS 11 for its smart watches, which brings many improvements and advanced features to some versions.
One of the most prominent features of the new system is the sleep apnea detection feature that Apple announced when it unveiled the Apple Watch Series 10. This feature will also be available on the Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 with the new update.
This feature will send an alert if the sensors detect breathing disorders during sleep, and this health feature has recently received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
watchOS 11 also introduces the new Vitals app, which collects overnight health data in one place, sets baselines for health metrics, and notifies the user if any values are out of range, which can help detect diseases or track the effects of different health habits.
In the same vein, the new Training Load feature adds the ability to measure workout intensity over time. After setting a baseline intensity level over 28 days, you can see how intense your workouts are compared to your usual averages. At launch, the feature will support 17 workout types, including walking, running, cycling, rowing, and more.
Apple has added the ability to pause or customize Activity Ring goals, so users can take a break for a day, a week, or even a month without losing their streak of rewards. Additionally, users can set different Activity Ring goals for each day of the week and customize important data in the Health app on iPhones.
Other new features Apple has added include pregnancy tracking in the Cycles app, along with other improvements to the user interface.
To download watchOS 11, you must first install iOS 18 on the paired iPhone, then open the Watch app on the phone, go to “General Settings” and then tap “Software Update”. Note that the system is available for Apple Watch Series 6 and later, Ultra versions, and the second generation of the SE watch.
