UAE’s G42 and NVIDIA Partnership Strengthens Role of AI in Climate Service
G42 , the UAE-based AI and cloud computing company, has announced a partnership with NVIDIA to harness the power of AI to address global climate challenges.
The partnership aims to develop innovative solutions to significantly improve the accuracy of weather forecasts, by leveraging the open-source NVIDIA Earth-2 platform , which relies on high-resolution simulation supported by artificial intelligence to accelerate access to climate and weather data.
Develop a weather forecast model:
In the first phase of their collaboration, G42 and NVIDIA are focusing on developing a weather forecast model with a square kilometer resolution to improve the accuracy of weather forecasting. The initiative’s main pillars include establishing a new operations center and a technical climate laboratory in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to become a global center for research and development in the field of sustainable climate solutions.
The center will advance efforts to develop customized climate and weather solutions, leveraging more than 100 petabytes of geological data, as well as NVIDIA's supercomputing power, to develop more accurate predictive models.

This collaboration also focuses on building an integrated framework to integrate enhanced weather forecasting capabilities, with comprehensive data backed by metrics and visualizations, supporting organizations around the world in achieving their sustainability goals, through environmental strategies informed by accurate data and information.
