Tile Launches New Bluetooth Trackers Without UWB Support

Tile has launched a new line of Bluetooth trackers, touting two important new features.

Bluetooth trackers are a valuable tool in this day and age where lost keys, lost remotes and even stolen bags or bikes are a thing of the past.

Tile was one of the first smart sign manufacturers to establish a widespread presence, and has since grown to include tens of millions of monthly active users.

With its latest releases, Tile is sticking with its trackers that have worked in the past, the Mate, Pro, Stick, and Slim.

This new set is suitable for a variety of uses, as the Mate and Pro use a corner opening that can be used via key rings and backpack straps.

The Sticker includes an adhesive backing that's perfect for oddly shaped items you need to keep track of, like a remote control or a bike.

The Slim device matches the design of an ID or credit card, meaning the tracker can easily fit into your wallet.

You can also use the Slim as a discreet way to track electronic devices, such as your laptop, by placing it in your laptop bag.

In late 2021, Life360, a family-focused location-sharing and safety platform, acquired Tile, and its latest line of smart tags now feature the Life360 logo across a multi-function button.

Assuming you have a Life360 account or started one when you activated a 2024 Tile, trackers can now be programmed to send an SOS message and location signal to your family and emergency contacts, as well as local authorities if you use a paid Life360 subscription.

You can only use Tile devices on the Tile network, which has over 40 million users.

Trackers lack the feature of ultra-wideband communication, or UWB. UWB technology in trackers helps the user find the item with high accuracy in short range, and is even able to tell the user which direction to turn when searching for the tag.

Aside from the missing feature, the Mate, Sticker, and Pro now ring louder than their predecessors, and the Pro offers a Bluetooth range of 150 meters.

Paid Tile subscriptions offer additional benefits, like location history and real-time smart notifications.

Tile is selling its new lineup for $25 for the Mate, $35 for the Pro, $30 for the Slim, and $25 for the Sticker.
