These iPhones and iPads no longer support Netflix.. You won't be able to run the app on them
Netflix, the most important streaming platform out there today, has announced a change that will affect users with older Apple devices. According to available data, the company's app in question will no longer be compatible with many iPhone models and also iPads. We point out the models that will be affected by the decision.
Basically, devices that use iOS 16 or earlier are the ones that will lose support. In this way, if you have an iPhone with this and you have the option to update to iOS 17, you will have to take the step if you want to continue accessing Netflix content. So much so that it has become known that these devices have started displaying an alert indicating the following: “We have updated the Netflix app! To use the latest version, install iOS 17 or later. So, we are talking about something that, quite simply, is a reality.
The change affects Apple devices that are not compatible with the iOS 17 update (and therefore cannot be updated). The affected models include: iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. In the case of tablets, they are: the first generations of the iPad Pro and iPad 5. These devices will not be able to receive the new Netflix app updates, which include important security patches and bug fixes.
This is not a small problem, as these types of fixes are necessary, as they ensure the smooth functioning of the application and protect users from potential vulnerabilities. Therefore, Netflix’s decision to stop updating its application for devices running iOS 16 is not good news for some... but it makes sense that as the industry advances and new usage options are added, the version that stops receiving support from Apple’s operating system may not support it.
