Sony announces limited editions of its devices and accessories
This limited edition includes a digital version of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, along with DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers and PlayStation Portal.
All of these consoles feature a grey colour that matches the colour of the original PlayStation console released on December 3, 1994.
The consoles feature light grey exterior panels with a dark grey interior, along with the original four-colour PlayStation logo on the side.
There is also a 30th Anniversary logo on the back and engraved on the inside of the outer panels.
Both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro come with matching accessories. The standard DualSense controller also features a gray finish, four-color PlayStation logos, and a 30th anniversary logo pattern.
There's a USB-C cable that includes a thick attachment point that mimics the look of an old PlayStation dock cable, and the stand also comes in gray.
Sony also offers PlayStation icon rubber cable ties, a PlayStation sticker, a PlayStation paper clip, and a limited edition PlayStation sticker in one of 30 possible designs.
Since both consoles are digital, the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro also include a grey panel for the optional disc drive, if you choose to purchase one.
The PlayStation Portal console gets the same makeover, with color and logos. All consoles also come in special boxes with a design similar to the original PlayStation console.
Sony sells the consoles in bundles. The PlayStation 5 Pro bundle includes the PlayStation 5 Pro console with DualSense and DualSense Pro controllers, a DualSense charging dock, and the accessories listed above.
Sony is offering up to 12,300 PlayStation 5 Pro bundles, with limited edition numbers engraved on the package. The number represents the month and date of the launch of the first PlayStation console.
The PlayStation 5 bundle includes the PlayStation 5 console with the DualSense controller and the accessories listed above.
Sony is selling the limited edition PlayStation Portal console separately, and you can also buy the limited edition DualSense Edge, which comes with a case and DualSense controller.
Sony will be offering limited edition products for pre-order starting September 26, and the company has not announced prices yet.
“To celebrate this 30th anniversary, we had to create something that honors the joy that PlayStation has brought us all,” said Hideaki Nishino, CEO of PlayStation Business.
