Snapdragon X Plus 8-core: Will it be the most powerful processor ever or what? Qualcomm offers Snapdragon X-series processors in two main variants: the X Plus, which features a 10-core Oryon CPU, and the X Elite, which comes with a 12-core Oryon CPU. A new leak from Evan Blass has revealed the key specs of the 8-core version of the X Plus, which is set to launch on laptops  that will be announced at IFA Berlin.

This will be a somewhat stripped-down version of the regular X Plus, featuring an 8-core Oryon CPU, and will ship in CoPilot+ laptops starting at $800.

According to previous reports, the new processor will offer a single core clock speed of up to 3.4GHz and a multi-core clock speed of up to 3.2GHz. In addition to reducing the number of processor cores and clock speeds, the new X Plus will also feature a stripped-down Adreno GPU, which has a performance of 1.7 TFLOPS (instead of 3.8 TFLOPS), 30MB of total LPDDR5X RAM (compared to 42MB in the X Plus), and support for three external displays at UHD resolution and 60Hz (instead of 4K 120Hz).

The processor will also retain the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, which boasts 45 TOPS performance, as well as the Always-Sensing ISP, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G.
