Samsung has just announced the new Galaxy M05, a model that goes straight into the Korean company's budget lineup. So, we're talking about a smartphone that aims to appeal to those users looking for a device at a reasonable price, and it doesn't lack competitive features within the mid-range smartphone category. We'll tell you the most important things it includes.

The Galaxy M05 sports a 6.7-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) display, which provides a decent visual experience. The 60Hz refresh rate is limited by other models on the market, but it’s still adequate for most daily activities. One aspect that stands out is the 8MP front camera, which is housed in a teardrop-shaped notch at the top of the display. This design allows you to maximize the screen space while maintaining a modern look.

Additionally, the device measures 168.8 x 78.2 x 8.8 mm and weighs 195 grams, making it a relatively compact and comfortable device to use. Therefore, it works without any problems as an everyday device.

In the photography department, the smartphone has a 50MP main camera with an F:1.8 aperture. This promises to capture images of quite acceptable quality. This element is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor with an F:2.4 aperture, which allows for an interesting leap in quality when taking selfies. As for the front camera, the aforementioned 8MP sensor has an F:2.0 aperture, which is more than enough for video calls and taking selfies with good lighting.

The processor chosen by the Korean company is the MediaTek Helio G85, an octa-core chip manufactured on a 12nm process that includes two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, providing decent performance for most applications and daily tasks. The graphics processing unit is the Mali-G52, which is capable of handling light games and graphics-intensive applications reasonably well.

The phone comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which lets you multitask without facing many issues. As for storage, it offers 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.

Autonomy is what makes this model stand out the most, since the device includes a 5,000 mAh battery. This capacity allows the phone to last all day with moderate use, and more careful users may be able to extend the battery to up to two days. In addition, the device supports 25W fast charging, although it is important to note that it does not include a charger in the box.

The Samsung Galaxy M05 has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, allowing for quick and easy unlocking. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type-C port.

This model comes with Android 14 with Samsung's One UI Core 6.0 customization layer. More importantly, the manufacturer has promised two OS updates and four years of security updates. This ensures that the device stays up to date and protected for a long time.

The Samsung Galaxy M05 has been launched in a single model priced at Rs 7,999 in India (around $90 at the exchange rate). It is available in Mint Green colour and is expected to launch in other regions outside the aforementioned Asian country.
