If you're one of those people who think you're not getting the most out of your Samsung Galaxy camera, Samsung's new app might be perfect for you.

The company has announced the official launch of the Camera Assistant app, a complementary app targeting Samsung Galaxy smartphone users, which adds new options to the default camera app, and allows for improving the final results of photos through various settings.

The app was announced through Samsung's official forum in South Korea , where the company explains how it works and all the functions it offers.

As a company representative explains, Camera Assistant is the first app that allows you to customize the automatic shooting mode of the camera app.

Once installed, the app offers functions such as the possibility to deactivate the automatic HDR mode, which has been active by default since One UI 4.1, or the possibility to modify, and even deactivate, the image smoothing that the camera app automatically applies when taking photos or photos with human faces.

Camera Assistant offers another very interesting function, which allows you to activate or deactivate the automatic lens change when zooming in / out. By disabling this option, you can use the phone's telephoto lens, even in poor lighting. Thus, more detailed photos of distant objects can be obtained, regardless of the level of ambient light.

Other functions included in this app are the ability to activate or deactivate the “Quick Take” function that allows you to record a video by pressing the button to take a photo, the option to adjust the number of photos taken when using a timer, and increase the shutter speed for moving scenes or enhanced viewing on HDMI-connected displays.

All the features are available in the Camera Assistant app, which is currently only compatible with Samsung Galaxy S22 series models updated to One UI 5. Samsung is ensuring that its availability will be expanded to all of the company's phones soon.
